National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic
PhD students, university teachers, researchers and artists studying/working at universities or research organisations outside Slovakia can apply for a study, research, teaching or artistic stay at Slovak universities and Slovak research organisations in the framework of the National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic. Students and PhD students can apply also for a travel allowance. Citizens of any country in the world are eligible to apply for a scholarship in the framework of the National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic.
Application deadline is 31 October 2022 at 16:00 CET. Scholarship stays can be carried out during the summer semester of the academic year 2022/2023. Applications are to be submitted on-line at www.scholarships.sk. At this website, applicants can find detailed information about the programme in 5 languages – Slovak, English, Russian, French and Spanish.
Scholarships of the National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic support also mobility of university students, PhD students and postdocs of Slovak universities to cover their living costs during their study or research stay at a university or a research organisation outside Slovakia. Applicants can apply also for a travel grant for their study or research stay outside Slovakia.
The National Scholarship Programme was established by the approval of the Government of the Slovak Republic in 2005. The Programme is funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic and is administered by SAIA, n. o.
SAIA, n. o. (Slovak Academic Information Agency) is a non-governmental non-profit organisation implementing programmes and providing services aimed at enhancement of civil society, and assisting in internationalisation of education and research in Slovakia since 1990. Under agreements with the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic, the Government Office of the Slovak Republic and other institutions, SAIA is administrating several scholarship and grant programmes in the field of higher education and research for applicants from Slovakia and abroad. SAIA also provides information about studying in Slovakia and abroad.
