General information:
Slovak citizens can practise a variety of sports throughout the entire year due to good natural conditions enabling practising summer as well as winter sports. Among summer sports the wide-spread ones are: football, tennis, swimming, cyclo-camping, jogging and hiking. The most favourable winter sports are: ice-hockey, cross-country and downhill skiing, skating and lately snowboarding. The above mentioned summer and winter sports as well as indoor sports such as basketball, volleyball, tennis and table tennis are favourable sports not only for top - level athletes but also for ordinary people, practising them in their leisure time.
